U.S. students can see 'Selma' for free

More than 275,000 free tickets to the Oscar-nominated film Selma are available to students in theaters across the United States, thanks to a money-raising effort led by African American business leaders


Middle and high school students can show their student ID or a report card at a theater in exchange for a ticket to the Martin Luther King Jr. biopic, according to the Selma For Students program's website.



The age range for free tickets varies depending on the city, and movie theaters will only be able to provide a certain number of tickets based on how many have already been paid for. In Montgomery, Alabama, for example, only 7th, 8th and 9th graders are eligible for free tickets. In Atlanta, only high-school students can see the movie without paying.
