Seagate, known for data storage, may have wandered into a new line of business — marketing — with a "living logo" idea that it hopes to license to other companies.
The logo, introduced this week, is an animated swirl composed of images that underscore Seagate's connection to the concept of "data." The pics were provided by Getty, but Scott Horn, VP at Seagate, says in the future there might be images related to Valentine's Day or Albert Einstein's birthday, among other holidays, sourced from elsewhere
"We've designed a set of software that can take any stream of data in a standard way and display it graphically," he says. On Seagate's website, you can also zoom in to see the actual photos. Read more...
