Customers are already angry with Marriott over its plans to block Wi-Fi hotspots from its hotels — and now, they have another reason to be annoyed with the hotel giant
Until last week, its Android app was incredibly insecure.
Software developer Randy Westergren reported on a massive problem he discovered inside the Marriott booking app for Android. He informed Marriott on Jan. 20 and publicly disclosed the issue on Sunday.
Data was being sent between the app and Marriott's web servers without authentication of any kind, Westergreen found. Read more...
