Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon gets a refresh for 2015

LAS VEGAS — Hard to believe, but Lenovo and IBM have sold more than 100 million ThinkPads since the first one was introduced in 1992. The line just got a refresh at CES 2015, led by the all-business ThinkPad X1 Carbon.


Lenovo claims the new X1 Carbon is the world's lightest 14-inch "performance" Ultrabook. At 2.88 pounds, it's decently light, and with a fifth-generation Intel Core i7 processor ("Broadwell"), it's certainly built to perform.



The 2015 Carbon has new options, including a "super bright" display that can be either full HD or WQHD (2,560 x 1,440) and a PCIe solid-state drive that Lenovo says is 80% faster than standard SSDs (Apple's most recent MacBook Pros also use PCIe connections). Read more...
