LONDON — Hundreds of people queued for hours to get their hands on a copy of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, as it went on sale in the UK Friday, following several days of intense demand across Paris.

Lines formed outside bookshops and newsagents across the country, as people tried to buy the latest issue, which features a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad crying and holding a "Je suis Charlie" sign on its cover

It's the first edition since last week's deadly shooting in which two masked gunmen killed 12 people, including many of the Paris-based weekly's editorial staff.
