Amazon is getting into the movie business

Amazon wants a chunk of Hollywood's business, too


After a string of successes in television—including multiple Golden Globe wins for Transparent—the e-commerce company wants to produce 12 movies per year. The movies will debut in theaters, but they'll also be available on Prime Instant Video in the United States only four to eight weeks after they're released in theaters, Amazon announced on Monday. That's at least 30 weeks faster than the average movie
