In the video above, 27 year-old Mason Bretan plays the drums and guitar, joined by three smartphone-wielding robots called Shimi robots. Breton, who is studying musical artificial intelligence, is part of Georgia Tech’s Robotic Musicianship group that developed the robots and programming that lets the bots not only listen to and understand music, but also create proper musical accompaniments of their own
