Originally taking up photography to improve his design work, he used photographs of friends, family and servants as reference models for his art. According wife Marion's diary, his photography eventually moved from hobby to obsession.
Sambourne took these photographs on the streets of Kensington, London, near his home in 18 Stafford Terrace, now a museum. Read more...
