A rare winter storm dumped a heap of snow on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon on New Year's Day, turning the desert treasure into a "winter wonderland."
The roads were snow-packed and icy on Thursday, the National Park Service wrote on its Flickr page, reporting that even more snow fell that morning.
"It is a winter wonderland out there," the National Park Service said
The snow was still visible on Friday after snow fell across Flagstaff, Arizona on Wednesday and Thursday.
