Man who hid under sink from Charlie Hebdo attackers describes his ordeal

PARIS — The man who hid under a sink during a tense stand-off between the Charlie Hebdo attackers and police has spoken out about his ordeal.


27-year-old graphic designer Lilian Lepère told France 2 TV his heart stopped beating as the heavily armed brothers Cherif and Said Kouachi roamed the print workshop in Dammartin-en-Goële during Friday's siege.



In an emotional interview he praised his boss and the owner of the business Michael Catalano, who told him to run for cover when the attackers first appeared.


"He gave me the seconds I needed to hide," he said. "It is thanks to him that I am here." Read more...
