In the devastating bushfires that are blazing throughout South Australia, koalas bring the humanity out of a nightmare situation
More than 26 homes have already been destroyed in the Adelaide Hills, and conditions are being compared to the deadly Ash Wednesday blazes in 1983, which killed 75 people across South Australia and Victoria. Residents are bracing for worse conditions in the next few days, as temperatures soar to 38 degrees Celsius (over 100 degrees Fahrenheit), according to the Country Fire Service.
On Jan. 2, Colin Phil Cook posted a YouTube video of himself helping out a parched koala. Cook said he came across the Australian native on a scorching hot summer's morning, and that it was clear the animal wasn't "getting enough moisture from the drying gum leaves." Read more...
