Indonesian officials: AirAsia flight climbed too quickly before crash

Investigators looking into the cause of the crash of AirAsia flight 8501 last month are focusing on why the plane made a sudden, rapid climb at such a steep angle that it could have led to an aerodynamic stall, according to comments on Tuesday from Indonesia's transport minister


The crash, which killed 162 people, involved an Airbus A320 aircraft that climbed at an abnormally high rate, then plunged and suddenly disappeared from radar, Indonesia's transport minister said.



Ignasius Jonan told Parliament that radar data showed the Airbus A320 was climbing at about 6,000 feet per minute before it disappeared. Read more...
