Devon farmer forced to cull aggressive Nazi-bred cows

LONDON — A British farmer who imported cows descended from Nazi-bred herds has been forced to kill seven of them after they became too aggressive.



In 2009, farmer Derek Gow imported 13 Heck cattle, which were created by German zoologists hoping to recreate extinct aurochs in the 1920s and 1930s.


Initially, the long horned beasts roamed on his Devon farm, and successful breeding increasing their number to more than 20. However, they've since become too dangerous to handle and have threatened the lives of his staff.


“The ones we had to get rid of would just attack you any chance they could. They would try to kill anyone," he said. "Dealing with that was not fun at allThey are by far and away the most aggressive animals I have ever worked with.” Read more...
