Australian driver narrowly avoids falling trees caused by windstorm

Tree-fall

Luck and a quick reaction probably saved this driver from severe injuries

An intense windstorm on Dec. 29, recorded by one driver's dashboard camera, wreaked havoc on trees lining the Maroondah Highway in Australia.

The storm, which registered wind speeds of more than 50 miles per hour, caused dozens of trees to fall onto the road almost simultaneously. It took crews about two-and-a-half hours to clear the highway of debris, causing major traffic backups, according to the Herald Sun.
