Atlanta airport partially closed after 'credible' bomb threats

Portions of the world's busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, were shut down on Saturday after "credible" bomb threats forced two commercial planes to land.


An FBI spokesman told The New York Times that two planes, belonging to Delta and Southwest Airlines (flight 1156 and flight 2492, respectively), are being searched by investigators



"We believe the threats to be credible," Reese McCrainie, a spokesman for the airport, told The Atlanta Journal Constitution


Military fighter jets escorted the flights to the airport, the planes landed safely and the runway is now closed. Read more...
