A rapidly intensifying North Atlantic storm system is taking aim at the United Kingdom, one day after Scotland and Northern Ireland were plastered by several inches of heavy, wet and disruptive snow from a separate storm.
The snow and ice through early Wednesday caused school cancelations, as well as road, rail and ferry closures in northern Scotland and parts of Ireland, according to The Guardian
