LONDON — A public inquiry into the death of Alexander Litvinenko, the ex-Russian spy who died in 2006 after being poisoned, opened in London Tuesday


Litvinenko became violently sick in November 2006, after drinking tea with two Russian men at a London hotel. He spent three weeks in the hospital before he died. On his deathbed, Litvinenko accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of ordering his assassination.
