Florida on Tuesday became the third most-populous state in the U.S. with 19.9 million residents, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. That means New York, with 19.7 million, is now No. 4. The top two are still California (38.8 million) and Texas (27 million)
Momentum is clearly on Florida's side. The state added 293,000 residents between July 2013 and July 2014, while New York's population grew by 51,000.
