Freedom prevails! 'The Interview' killed it in 330 theaters nationwide

The threats were empty. The movie theaters were full.


The Interview played without incident to packed arthouse cinemas all over the U.S. on Christmas Day, where the biggest threat wasn't Kim Jong-un and his alleged cyber goons, but the surprise VOD release that Sony orchestrated the day before. And not even the chance to watch at home for $5.99 — an extremely reasonable rate for a premium, first-run feature film — kept away crowds that just wanted to witness a bit of history.
