Bloomberg's Trish Regan reported those details about Charney on Monday, which she said he told her in an off-camera interview. Last week, American Apparel, under new leadership, dumped Charney. The embattled founder was released with cause following an investigation into his conduct, which included accusations of sexual harassment



On Friday, the New York Post reported that Charney had already found a new financial backer to aid efforts to take back control of the clothing retailer. The company confirmed to Bloomberg that it has received interest from prospective buyers. Charney is reportedly involved with private equity firm Irving Capital, which did not respond to a request for comment. Read more...
